This is the post where I tell you why I started this blog. I’m going to go with the much overly used reason of “My New Year’s resolution was to start a blog”, but I really wanted this to be a personal diary of mine. Somewhere I can express my thoughts and one day look back on and see what I went through at the time (kind of like the one we had as kids). Also, for my little Princess Anaiya to be able to look back and see all the amazing pictures, places she has traveled, and especially all the ‘shits & giggles’ I went through with her along the way. lol
I was also one of the first of my close friends to become pregnant at the time. Now it seems to have started a ripple effect of mommies and soon to be mommies. I love it!
So, I find myself constantly being asked “what do I need” and “how do I start prepping” and so on. If I had a dollar for every time I had to repeat what I just told a another soon to be mommy… I would be 14 dollars richer, haha! I figured why not just write about everything all at once so everyone can enjoy. I’m a little crazy with trying new things that make life just a little bit easier for us moms, I mean, why not? The products they have out now are really innovative and exciting! I can constantly hear my mom’s voice in the back of my head. “Well, they didn’t have that back when I had you three” or “I never knew about that or did it that way.” Oh how times have changed Mommy Dearest. I’m sure most of you have heard the same thing as a new mom or soon to be mommy.
Ohhh geez, and did I mention I have been trying to start this blog for almost a year now!? Well, here is the “excuse” as my boyfriend likes to mention daily. I mean, it could be the fact that I had the worst pregnancy brain ever (still have it) or the fact that I was 40 weeks pregnant and miserable. Nobody seems to remember or tell you about how miserable your body feels after you give birth (just your body not your heart, it’s full of love). Uggghhh! Then life hit and as a new mom you really don’t have any time to yourself. ESPECIALLY the first couple of months. I couldn’t even tell you the time or date it was if you asked me. It is hard but worth it, but oh so hard! I mean, it’s better late than never…right?
So, here I am now with my perfect 8 month old Princess Anaiya Marie Metcalf. She is healthy and the cutest happiest little doll ever. I couldn’t be more blessed with such a perfect little girl. Well, besides some of the teething moments and late night/early morning giggles and bottle screams. I wouldn’t change it for the world. I am blessed she chose me to be her Mommy. *Tear*
This blogging thing is very new to me, so bare with me for a while. I am far from a writer or journalist so I apologize in advance for any grammatical errors you will encounter. I really enjoy sharing most of my experiences through pictures and videos so I hope you enjoy.
Well, I have a lot of catching up to do and MANY MANY pictures to share with you all. Being a mom has helped me discover a new passion, which is to try to help inform other moms (or soon to be) with a little bit of knowledge I have picked up on this journey of motherhood. Again, I am a NEW mom so I do not know what half of you veteran moms know out there. Please I would LOVE to hear feedback and questions you have or would like me to touch on. I will do my best to get back to you ASAP!
Thank you so much and I hope you enjoy this as much as I love to share.
