Where to even start!? I have so much to catch you up on. Let me tell you, being a full time mom and planning her first Birthday/ Korean Doljanchi is ALOT of work. Her Dad had no idea how much I did till he walked into her birthday looked over at me and said “Wow babe, all this” it made me feel very appreciated. All I did will be in my next post in a couple days. I am currently waiting for all the event pictures to come in. I can’t wait!
Ugh so, I know everyone constantly tells me “cherish these moments, they go by so quick” they are right . I can’t help but go back and look through all my unfinished posts. Especially our 6 month shoot, like really? 6 months already passed. It felt like yesterday we took these and now I am starting to get emotional as I go through them one by one. So many memories of her first standing up all by herself (she is super strong). Okay, here I go and here go all my tears as well. *Grabs box of tissue*
Okay, here go the water works. This shoot touches my heart because I remember exactly how I felt when doing them. I also shot my maternity shoot (which I posted) with Lori Dorman and picked this specific shot just so we may return with the same shot, but with my Princess inside. It came out just as I imagined it. It was a surreal feeling to look in that empty carriage and know that it will soon be filled with my little Princess. When we returned for her 6 months shoot, it was an overwhelming feeling of joy that we were able to recreate this shot with her. This little girl has know idea how much we love her, and I don’t think she will know till she too becomes a mother.
If there is one thing I have learned about new motherhood it is how much my respect and appreciation towards my mother has increased times a million. I have apologized for all the bad things I did and thanked her for always being there for me when I needed her most. She was a single parent raising three girls and being a full time nurse. I never realized what she had to go through till now. *Tears*
I absolutely love these outdoor shots of us, although she was not having it at this point. lol Lori still made the best of what we had. I made us both matching outfits from an oversized Roberto Cavali skirt. My seamstress trimmed down my skirt, made it shorter and used the rest of material to add to her little dress. It came out picture perfect!
Oh how I miss my little chunky monkey. Now that she walks/runs her legs have thinned out quite a bit. I remember being able to grab her thighs and not being able to see my fingers as I pulled them out of each little roll. I mean look at those cheeks! I also had our outfits made by my seamstress, I gave her one of his old shirts and she made it out of the material I gave her. Same with both of our skirts, she is amazing. I would suggest finding a good and doing the same if you have a certain look you are going for.
Also, this shoot was around Valentines so I wanted to make sure we had some good ones to surprise Daddy. He had no idea of course, he just thought we were doing it because I “loved the color red”. haha
Can this picture be an cuter?! My favorite by far…When I saw this it made my heart melt because this is him in raw form as well. I really “didn’t know how much I loved her Daddy, till I saw the way he loved her” its so true. The way he is with her is amazing, made me fall in love with him all over again.
When Daddy woke up the morning of Valentines he was thrilled to find all these special gifts waiting for him in the living room. She even had a shirt that said “Daddy is my first Valentine” *tears* too cute right?!
Is it just me or are all of you mommies doing this every time a new year or month pass by? I can’t be the only crazy one out there i’m sure. What are some things you did when your baby finally turned one? or heck what did you do when they turned 6 months?
I hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I loved sharing them with you.
P.s… Now that the party is over, I am using her nap times and late nights to finish up and catch up!
