I know, sounds too good to be true right?!
Okay, when you think of Vegas you think of desert and heat. Well I’m originally from southern California so I love greenery, trees, and mountain views any chance I get. So when I came across this hidden little gem, I just had to share with everyone. I know it has been in Vegas for a looong time but I have only been a mother for a one year and lunch dates no longer exist for a running one year old. (Ahhhh I wanted her to walk so bad…) Anyway, now that she is more active and wanting to “explore” I say it in quotes because I need to constantly remind myself that she is doing just that. Maybe not so much when she likes to put everything in the toilets or even when she likes to throw all of mommies make up brushes in the diaper trash. Ahhhhhh motherhood! Okay, back to this wonderful day with some of my really close mommy friends I have out here. I must say, being a SAHM you really need a mommy tribe and community oh and a couple cases of wine to get through the week. I am joking about the wine…kinda.
I decided to invite my local mommy friends which I like to call the ‘Vegas Mom’s Club’ to a mommy play date so they can also check out what I have been talking about. As, you know from my Princess’s 1st birthday (if you haven’t seen it check it out HERE) I am the type of mom to plan events and bring everything we need for the littles to be entertained. Which of course I did, I mean what toddler doesn’t love bubbles & balls. My daughter LOVES them so anything to make the Princess happy is what I do. The bubbles machine is super portable and can fit in any tree or high area. Make sure to purchase a gallon of bubbles, it will last you longer than the individual ones that come with it. I also brought along her portable play tent with tunnel. It is perfect for the outdoors and adding the balls inside for the kids is a major plus. I purchased them all as a set here. This can literally be used as a “let mommies talk” started pack for all parks. haha I would take this everywhere we go if I can. The bubbles make a mess inside the house so I do not suggest trying it unless you want a tantrum and a mess. Also, my red easy go wagon is the best investment I ever made. It comes is handy and it is super sturdy as you can see with all the kids wanting to ride it. The Princess hates to be in her stroller as any toddler i’m sure but I am okay with it because I can carry everything I need in it and her. If you love it also check it out Here.
Welcome to Spring Mountain Ranch State Park , I mean how gorgeous is that background? This establishment was not always a state park, this ranch used to be owned and operated by Howard Hughes. They have an open house museum throughout the day giving tours. They have a lake, trails, and cows in the stables for everyone to enjoy. This place is a photographers heaven and you can see why with some of the shots here. This is only from the field area, when she gets a bit older we can start going on the trails they have, they are not too bad and jogger stroller friendly. I adore this place because it simple doesn’t feel like you are in Vegas. The trees have a breeze, it’s some what cooler, and the views are breath taking. Oh and my daughter can run free in acres of grass. Oh and did I mention they also have an outdoor live theater! Yes, they have a live performance with shows like my favorite ‘Beauty and The Beast’. For more info on dates, times and ticket costs check it out HERE.
What a wonderful day it was. I was able to catch up, photograph, and vent to my mommy friends while our babies were able to poke and play together. I love my mommy play dates and now that I found this spot we will definitely be coming back. What are some things you bring for your kids to the park? And how often are you able to spend time with Mommy friends?
Thank you for reading, I look forward to hearing from you all!
Also, let me know if there is anything you would like me to touch up on. I am all ears!
